Modular Virtual Campus Spaces Designed for Easy Full Sim Set Up
in Open Sims
Cube3 released a new virtual spaces system designed for
corporate or educational entities that want a full virtual
campus or office presence in an Open Sim system's Grid. Debuting on
the professional B2B and Educational Community -
ReactionGrid, the CampusPodz offer a a pre designed quarter sim
layout of buildings, meeting areas, landscaping, furniture systems
and outdoor seminar/training areas that allow for an instant
professional looking campus presentations and spaces.
The CampusePodz systems are designed for a simple
graphic/content/layout build/video customization process by any
purchaser or with Cube3 consulting assistance. Every element of the
CampusPodz comes as a "copy/modify" 2d/3d asset that can be
adjusted or modified for many final presentation designs and
needs.
"Many Virtual Designs from Second Life are not offered in styles
or with the support appropriate for a corporate or educational
institute's purposes." stated Cube3's Larry Rosenthal. "The C3
CampusPodz are designed specifically in a clean professional modern
style that once customized with graphics and client specific
content, can provide the easiest way for an organization to begin a
virtual worlds Open Sims project online in a community like
ReactionGrid knowing they are working within a professional
process and relationship with it's provider"
ReactionGrid is one of the new Open Sim Communities based on the
open source technologies began at
Linden Labs with their
Second Life Virtual World. Unlike Second Life, Open Sims can be
created and hosted directly by third party corporate or educational
organizations and are also not required to operate within many of
the "Game-like" conceits of Second Life.
The CampusPodz System can be licensed for Corporate usage
starting at $1,000 USD. Further customization can be offered via
Cube3 on a per project basis, and Educational Institute Pricing
Discounts are available as well.

To be or not to be (a product)
Maxping says: as we try to serv you with 3D related press
releases, we like to give some background. Following
discussions in the mailing lists, we still have a discussion wether
opensim is a product or not.
One side is for sure this opensource aspect, universitary research
and design aspects in systems and software. The other side is
sitting in front of most viewer - the user. Establishing a
broad basis for "acceptance needs those - and they feel quite well
using a so called product.
Now, there is no conflict - as long as the user stay on releases
and the developer and test take the hell ride on the hottest 100
versions a week.
If we go futher and think about use cases, maybe even organizations
and companies as the operator of a opensim based service, a toolkit
enabling their business is a well proven way.
That is, where we at maxping appreciate alle solutions, like
presented by Cube3.
