Let us introduce... Megan Rutherford

Edited by: Ralf Haifisch

Megan Rutherford has been contributing articles to Maxping for a few months now and we thought it only fitting for Megan to tell us a little bit more about herself.

Meg-avi

Megan Rutherford has been publishing articles in Maxping for a while - and maybe some readers are interested: who is that girl.

We asked Megan to give us a brief introduction to herself - here it comes.

I often spend my days standing at the crossroads of virtual worlds and social media.  Some at Visual Purple (www.visualpurple.com) consider me the resident guru for both.  In reality, we have some dangerously bright people in both worlds; sometimes I enjoy the high ground by not being too technical, if you get my drift. My daily responsibilities include immersing myself in a host of virtual world applications and getting my hands dirty by often being co-opted in the design process of Visual Purple's innovative virtual world training products. Although virtual worlds are my primary focus I am also actively involved in social media and exploring how we can incorporate such into active learning and training. I utilize a host of virtual world platforms and enjoy seeing the latest technologies coming on line - having a drive for adventure when it comes to training and learning in 3D worlds sure doesn't hurt!  Areas of expertise include virtual worlds, social media, marketing and public relations. While not immersed in virtual worlds (and social media), my spare time is spent ranching and shooting things, i.e., photography.

Maxping says:

Having a degree in marketing she made her way via Visual Purple´s Decision Based Training product line. Having that RL-based economic background, she learned about all types of training systems and even got even involveld in product design questions - she likes to wear many hats, as she said.  Besides the "pure" technological visionists, tech and programming authors we have on board - Megan adds not only social media knowledge but business perspective, as well.
