Pushing limits in realXtend

Alberto is always in search for new technology - and the limits of known ones. Read about his latest experience with realXtend virtual worlds.

I like to build in virtual worlds. That is why I love having my own sims, and test them.  What I have tried, in our server Hispagrid are the limits that can be achieved by building with meshes in our modrex in realXtend. To perform this test, I created an island of 256×256 metres, fill to a level of 32 meters and creating a building of similar size to the island: 256 meters long by 176 meters high. The building simulates a spaceport, with the option of offices and several ships. When I build something I like to push boundaries, and as I have here the limitation of Linden with prim …  ;-D  ,-D

Now I have to start building another experiment in another completely different style.  Until you have advanced, I will not comment on it  ;-)

Wow, the meshes look really cool. Any change to get them to http://rexxed.com for wider distribution?

The problem is the size. Some of the meshes had near of 10 Mb, and I could to upload them to the sim because i had administrator privileges in the server and i uploaded "all" the realxtend's servers together, meshes incluided, using ftp from my local configuration.
For me, that is the bigger problem to use meshes to build bigger constructions, like cities, the limitation of the size than we can upload in the 3d models.

Do you build for others?
I need a builder for a virtual classroom set-up and maybe a campus.

Michael: Thanks for the offert but now i haven't free time to accept offers ;-)

Cube, the station only can be visited using the realxend viewer. Because in this moment we haven't open a web to register, i don't know if http://users.realxtend.net/rexauth/Register.aspx is still open, in this moment i tryied but can't tp connect, to create an account, but the ip of our server in modrex is: 213.172.38.61:9500

ah, ok.
sometime soon then...
i cant seem to get the latest realxtend or meerkat to work. they crash on start.

i can get and use the v1 older meerkat to backup and hippoviewer though. they seem to work fine.

anyhow. maybe ill try realxtend on my laptop, smaller graphic card, newer processor.
