Web based mobile Twitter client from Maxping

Mobile use of Internet is growing fast. I am eagerly waiting for virtual worlds to be properly accessible from my mobile phone. In the meantime, I kill my spare mobile time with Twitter - here's the tool from us at Maxping to help you too!

I wrote earlier how Twitter is one of the main tools to stay on top of current topics around virtual worlds. Now I have advanced to the next level of my twitterhood, I installed Dabr open source Twitter client on a new web server for all of you to enjoy: TweetSo.me

The service is optimized for mobile devices and small screens, but after a while, I started to use it as my main web view too. However, for very efficient Twittering from my desktop I still use TweetDeck.

TweetSo.me features:

- Automatic conversion of long URLs to bit.ly links to conserve space on tweets
- Show flickr and twitpic thumbnails automatically in tweets
- Color highlighting of mentions/replies in timelines
- "Save as default search" is very handy to find out what is going on at #Secondlife, for example

Now I am looking if it is possible to make a replacement for bit.ly, will let you know soon!
